What did you do this past week?

This past week I was working on Phase 3 of the IDB project. My group was working on the project until the very last day, so it was a pretty busy week. We got sorting, filtering and searching done only the day before, so the project really took up the majority of my week.

What’s in your way?

There’s not much in my way since we just finished the project. I’m probably going to be focusing on my other classes this week because I prioritized SWE this past week.

What will you do next week?

I’ll be prioritizing my other classes this week. Overall, my week won’t be terribly busy because I had a ton of tests and deadlines last week.

If you read it, what did you think of the More getters and setters?

I think it provided some good clarification to last week’s article. I was under the impression that the author of the article was saying not to use getters and setters at all. However, now I know that he was saying not to have business code use getters and setters.

What was your experience of SQL?

I’m enjoying SQL! It’s very straightforward (so far), and very relevant knowledge to have. I’m able to follow along pretty easily, which is nice because I wasn’t able to quickly pick up some of the Python stuff we were doing to wards the end of the Python portion of the class.

What made you happy this week?

I’ve been at home this whole semester but I came down to Austin yesterday, so I’m having a great time! It’s nice to see my friends and send time on campus instead of being cooped up in my room all day. I’ve definitely missed Austin food, and am looking forward to eating at all my regular places.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I was hearing about this new virus that targets the new Apple M1 chip. Apparently there have already been 30,000 infections. I’m planning on getting an M1 chip Macbook over the summer, so I’m hoping that get resolved soon.
